Acceptable Use Policy

Sidedoor sends email in your name. This is the line between a job search and spam.

What Sidedoor is for

Applying for jobs you would actually take, and writing to the people who hire for them. Nothing else goes out through this product.

Not allowed

  • Sales, marketing, fundraising, recruiting, surveys or newsletters of any kind.
  • Applying as someone else, or with invented employers, degrees, titles or work authorisation.
  • Harassment, threats, or continuing to contact someone who asked you to stop.
  • Uploading a mailing list, or targeting addresses that have nothing to do with a role you are applying for.
  • Anything illegal, or anything that breaks an employer's or a job board's own terms.

Sending rules

  • Daily caps are set by your plan and are not negotiable — they exist to keep every user's mail deliverable.
  • A reply stops the sequence for that company. Follow-ups are limited per plan and are not resumed after a decline.
  • Every email identifies you as the sender and carries a working reply address.
  • Opt-outs are honoured permanently and across accounts.

How we enforce it

We monitor bounce, complaint and reply rates. An account that trips them is paused while we look. A first problem usually ends in a warning; fraud, harassment or list-uploading ends in immediate closure without a refund, and we report what the law requires us to report.
